The Quercy Cottage

Moulin de Lartigue was once one of 66 water mills along the River Dropt, a small but important tributary of the River Garonne in south west France. Accessed by a long private drive, our 16th Century accommodation enjoys a peaceful setting in 12 acres of parkland bordered by the river. Whilst secluded, bustling Villeréal is a convenient 5 minute drive. Colombage walls, fireplaces, vaulted oak ceilings, mezzanine & bread oven are a few features reflecting a fascinating history. Both self catering cottages are extensively equipped for modern comfortable living, each with their own private terrace & BBQ. The extensive grounds include a superb pool, fishing on site, sauna and outdoor games.

You can make your holiday as relaxing or as active as you please. Moulin de Lartigue is in the north of Lot-et-Garonne, the French fruit farm region with its carefully tended orchards of plum, peach, and hazel. An easy drive will take you through the stunning scenery of the wine regions around Cahors to the east on the River Lot, Bergerac to the north on the River Dordogne, or west through St Emilion to the largest wine region in France - Bordeaux.

Our area is reputed to have the oldest & greatest number of historical places to visit in France. 5km away is the bustling historic Bastide market town of Villeréal with its 14th century covered market, superb restaurants, and overlooked by the 13th century twin towered church. It is well worth visiting the many other nearby Bastide towns, each individual and all with their own unique markets: for example Monflanquin, Monpazier, Issigeac and Castillonnès.
