What's there to see & do?

Moulin de Lartigue is in the Lot-et-Garonne, close to the Dordogne and the Lot departments. The area is steeped in history and legend, as well as an abundance of wildlife and wild flowers to enjoy. On arrival, our Guest Information Pack will provide more in depth details of the region and leisure activities.

Some activities are: Mountain bike hire available in Villeréal; Golf Courses at Casteljaloux & St Etienne de Villeréal, with a Championship Course near Villeneuve-sur-Lot; a lake with small leisure beach, horse riding, walking and tennis, all within a short drive.

The region is also spoilt for choice with prehistoric caves, particularly in Peche Merle in the Lot Valley; and hilltop bastide villages, notably St Cirq le Popie, one of the prettiest villages in France.

Wine production: Surrounded by Appelation Contrôlée vinyards of Cahors, Duras, Pécharmant, Bergerac & Bordeaux, there is plenty of opportunity for dégustation (tasting) et vente (purchase).

Gastronomy: There are many excellent family run restaurants and auberges providing the delights of the region, as well as local farms and markets producing pâtés, cheeses, foie gras, fruits and vegetables.
Enjoy a Monbazillac sweet white wine with your foie gras, or a Grand Cru red from St. Emilion with your Confit de Canard. Our Orchard of France is noted for the Agen Prune renowned as the best in the world -- a visit to the Prune Museum will show just how much you can do with a prune!
